Welcome to Kingsbridge Medical Practice

Opening Times

Reception is open from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Due to COVID-19 please wear a face mask if you are attending the Practice and maintain a safe social distance. Do not attend the Practice if you have symptoms of Coronavirus.

Telephone Calls

Our telephone lines are open 8.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, with the exception of 12.30 to 1.30 pm daily, when the lines close for staff training.

We experience high volumes of calls throughout the day and particularly for appointments between 8.30 am – 10.30 am. Therefore you may experience a delay in your call being answered. All our lines are fully-staffed at peak times and we are sorry if you have to wait in our call queue. We do recommend that patients sign up for patient access to enable online appointment booking, prescription requests, etc to avoid waiting in call queues. If you call is not urgent please contact us after 10.30 am.

Extended Access Appointments

Evening and weekend GP and Nurse appointments are now available at local primary care hubs. Please contact the surgery to check availability and book an appointment. Further information about this service can be accessed here https://www.northstaffsccg.nhs.uk/your-services/extended-primary-care-services

How to book an appointment

We recommend the use of our Online Consultation system to gain medical advice and consult with a GP.  To use this please click on the “Online Consult” image shown above.  Alternatively you can use Patient Access to book an appointment on line or call us on 01782 525740.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please do not visit the Practice to book appointments. Please see our appointments page for more information.

Accessible Information Standard

It is a requirement of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 that our patients receive information in a way they can access and understand.
If you have any information or communication needs we would like to know so we can help meet those needs.
For example, we want to be sure that you can read and understand information provided to you during medical appointments or in writing.
Please tell us if you need information in any other format than standard print or if you have any special communication requirements.

Named Accountable GP

From the 1st April 2015 all patients registered at the Practice will have a named accountable GP. This does not mean that you have to see this specific Doctor nor does it mean that you will always be able to have an appointment with your named GP. Your Doctors name can be obtained from reception.

Help Us to Help You

Our team work hard to offer the very best service we can to our patients in challenging circumstances.  The demand for our services is very high so please let us know in advance if you are unable to attend an appointment – we can then offer it to another patient.  Please also try to be punctual – all of our clinics are fully booked and time isn’t available to squeeze patients in who miss their scheduled appointment time.

We aim to treat all of our patients with dignity and respect and our staff deserve the same in return.  We have a zero tolerance approach to violence and abuse. Any abusive behaviour, physical or verbal, towards our staff or other patients will be taken very seriously. In the case of violence, the police will be informed and you will be removed from our Practice patient list.
